There are numerous excellent pubs in the area, some a short walk away from Scallow Campsite.
A few of our favourites are:
Set in the conservation area of the village of East Hoathly. Formally the old School House over 250 years ago the Grade II listed building was converted into the central village pub. The Pub has been owned by the same people for over 23 years.
Muffins Café of East Hoathly offers a charming, atmospheric and sophisticated licensed café experience. Located in a beautiful village setting with easy parking and a choice of indoor or outdoor seating.
The Star Inn is a true family pub. Owned by the Lefort family for over a generation, Paul Lefort, continues the heritage. He’s created a friendly, welcoming environment for couples, seniors, parents and children.
The Six Bells is a great, slighty quirky, traditional pub in a great Sussex village. You won't find Chiddingly by accident, it's off a narrow lane off the A22 between Lewes and Eastbourne.
The Gun was once used as a courthouse in ancient times. Local history tells us that a murder trial took place here and the Murderess was given the death penalty after ridding the community of her bullying, cheating husband!
